Jay is a re/insurance veteran with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Throughout his extensive career, he has demonstrated exceptional business acumen in various areas, including underwriting strategy and planning, branch operations, underwriting and claims management, retrocession arrangements, and government and client engagement within the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework. Jay joined Swiss Re in 2017 as a senior underwriter for the agriculture reinsurance business across Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and India subcontinents. In his role, he has been instrumental in developing and driving both commercial and governmental national insurance schemes(under PPP framework). These products include innovative solutions that leverage technology and cover all other index products such as soil moisture, flood index, area yield index, area-based damage indexes.
He has played pivotal and instrumental role in developing the Thailand National Crop insurance scheme which includes introduction of new product structures and provision of technical pricing. He has played the pivotal role in developing the Malaysia rice insurance scheme which is due for implementation. He also developed rice insurance schemes using remote sensing satellite technology in both Vietnam and Cambodia, which is the 1st kind in the Asian market. Moreover, he developed new livestock insurance products in Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand and Bangladesh which strengthened Swiss Re’s track record in assisting the stakeholders to develop agriculture financial risk management framework using insurance as an efficient financial tool in the livestock industry. Jay also played instrumental role in developing pet insurance portfolio from China and Japan.
Before joining Swiss Re, Jay spent 13 years with Korean Re, where he held various significant roles. His responsibilities included property and casualty (P&C) underwriting and claims, both domestically and internationally. Additionally, he managed branch underwriting and claims operations, and was instrumental in formulating strategies and underwriting guidelines for the overseas business. Jay holds P&C underwriting credentials such as CPCU(Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) and ARE(Associate in Reinsurance).
MR. YU DENG
Head of Global Agriculture Reinsurance, Canopius
Yu Deng joined Canopius in 2019 as the head of global agriculture reinsurance. Before joining Canopius, he served as a senior agriculture reinsurance underwriter for Swiss Re since 2013. At Swiss Re, Yu Deng played an instrumental role in developing new crop re/insurance businesses in the region, including the national crop insurance scheme in Thailand, rice area yield insurance in Taiwan, and the largest aquaculture insurance facility in Japan. He also spearheaded various crop insurance treaties in Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and China, and served as an expert underwriter for worldwide MPCI and indemnity-based crop insurance at Swiss Re.
Prior to his tenure at Swiss Re, Yu Deng worked as an analytics director at Aon Re in Singapore, specializing in agricultural insurance treaty analytics. He was responsible for developing Aon's first stochastic China crop yield model.
Yu Deng began his career in primary agricultural insurance with Canada's largest crop insurance company, where he served as a senior actuarial analyst. He was involved in rating and designing various programs, including multi-peril crop insurance, revenue insurance, hail insurance, weather index insurance, and livestock price insurance. Yu Deng holds a master’s degree in Natural Resource Economics from the University of Alberta, Canada. He also holds risk management and analytics credentials such as the CFA charter and Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation.

Sasa Hu leads a team of experienced agriculture (Re)insurance experts to service clients globally.
Starting in the insurance industry as an actuary almost 20 years ago, Ms. Hu switched to
underwriting 9 years ago and became the Head of Agriculture in 2021. She also recently takes on an additional role of Chief Underwriting Officer P&C Asia.

Wen brings a wealth of experience from her tenure with Aon's agriculture reinsurance team, where she specialized in the agriculture business across the Asia Pacific region. Recently, Wen led the Greater China agriculture sector and managed key client relationships. She holds a Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, specializing in Agriculture Insurance, Weather Index Insurance, and Catastrophic Risk Management.

With over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, Dulyalak began her career in the corporate solutions team at AIA before moving on to roles at Marsh (Thailand) and Thai Life Insurance. Throughout her career, she has been involved in and spearheaded numerous digital projects, including the recent transition from face-to-face to digital platforms for Thai Life and AIA bancassurance channels.

Narathip is the Head of Model Development Team - APAC, a member of Global Model Solutions and Advisory / MDT. He joined Guy Carpenter team in Singapore since 2017 to support the Nat Cat model developments and advisory projects for APAC. The main responsibilities in the past several years have been focusing on Flood Modelling capabilities across countries in APAC with flood models released for Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore), East Asia (Japan and China), South Asia (India and Sri Lanka) with on-going developments for other countries to fill in the gaps in APAC. Recent on-going development for other peril also includes the Western North Pacific Basin Tropical Cyclone Models (Japan Typhoon is the first in development). Narathip and his team have also been working collaboratively with the Peril Advisory group to provide the support on the model suitability analysis (MSA) on major perils, catastrophe responses as well providing the solutions on non-modelled perils. The team have also been involved with the works related to climate change impacts on Nat Cat models in the region. Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, his research interests were on the seismic performance of structures in which he holds his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. After graduated, he continued to work in the insurance industry in the US on research and development of Nat Cat modelling with the focus on the earthquake, hurricane, and flood for the US region.

Vanessa Lou, FIAA, is a Partner at EY ASEAN Actuarial Practice, based in EY Singapore. She has over 18 years of experience in the life insurance industry, including 14 years at EY Singapore and 4 years with one of the largest life insurers in Australia. She has extensive experience acting as an advisor for insurers, regulators, and industry bodies in the Asia Pacific region. Vanessa signs off on the actuarial audits for most of EY’s insurance audit clients in ASEAN. This includes insurers as well as insurance schemes of government pension funds. She has also provided Appointed Actuary services to several insurers in Singapore. Vanessa has led IFRS 17 implementation for several regional insurers in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. She is highly experienced in the accounting and actuarial requirements, market practices adopted by various insurers, and the architecture design and workflow for IFRS 17 purposes. Vanessa has led actuarial due diligence for numerous M&A transactions in Asia Pacific, for both buy-side and sell-side, and conducted independent valuation work for IPOs and delisting from stock exchanges. Vanessa has also assisted insurers in the region with their product and distribution strategy, including securing and optimizing existing and future partnerships, revising compensation schemes, and overall agency distribution strategy.

Anil Sant is the President and Chief Executive Officer, of the Asian Reinsurance Corporation, an intergovernmental organization established under the aegis of UN-ESCAP. Asian Re is a regional reinsurer established in 1980 to meet the reinsurance requirements of the Asia-Pacific region. He has more than three decades of experience in the reinsurance industry as an underwriter and manager. Prior to joining Asian Re in 2017, he worked in various roles at GIC Re, handling various markets including Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. His experience includes postings at GIC Mumbai as Head of GIC UK Branch in London and as Head of Underwriting at Trust Re, Malaysia.
IR. R. RICKY S. NATAPRADJA

Ricky Natapradja resided in Sydney, Australia for 25 years, during which he obtained dual qualifications in Civil Engineering and Business Management. He returned to Indonesia in 2000 and has since become a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the Asia Pacific Region, primarily in the Financial Services Industry.
Before venturing into the insurance sector following the Indonesian Economic crisis in 1999/2000, Ricky played a pivotal role in spearheading various financing deals. These deals included acquisition financing for equipment, machinery and plant, construction, debt-restructuring, working capital, and trade finance across a diverse range of industries, with values ranging between USD 1,000,000 up to USD 50,000,000.
Throughout his nearly two-decade-long career in insurance, Ricky has demonstrated a consistent track record of success in Corporate Planning and Restructuring, Strategic Business Development, Commercial Marketing, and Sales. He has held numerous senior executive and management positions, including Director of Aviation and Construction Risks at PT Willis Indonesia, Vice President of Strategic Business Development at PT Howden Insurance Brokers Indonesia, and Country Manager at Euler Hermes Indonesia/Director Credit Insurance at PT Allianz Utama Indonesia, among others.
Ricky is widely recognized as a leading expert in Trade Credit and Financial Lines Insurance in Indonesia. He has participated as a panelist and speaker at various prestigious events, including the Annual Indonesia Trade and Commodity Finance Conference, hosted by Global Trade Review, and the Indonesia Infrastructure Finance Conference, hosted by Euromoney.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic crisis, Ricky was sought after as a keynote speaker for several webinars and podcasts, addressing topics such as "Maintaining Liquidity and Sustainable Trade amid COVID-19" and "Contribution to Economic Recovery in the New Normal."
In August 2023, Ricky served as a Speaker and Panellist at the Lloyd’s Asia International Insurance Conference and Market Day in Jakarta, Indonesia. In April 2024, he was a Speaker and Panellist at the 12th Asia Insurance Brokers Summit hosted by Asia Insurance Review in Singapore. Additionally, he conducted facilitator training in Colombo, Sri Lanka, for the Sri Lankan Insurance Industry.
Ricky is also a dedicated educator, serving as a Lecturer and Tutor for Financial Lines (Credit Insurance and Surety) for the APARI (Asosiasi Ahli Pialang Asuransi and Reasuransi Indonesia) Insurance Broker Education Programs since 2014. He has also been a Guest Lecturer on Project Management and Operations Management at the Indonesia Institute for Management Development (IPMI) for MBA Post Graduate Studies.
Since 2019, Ricky has been the lead facilitator for Trade Credit Insurance, Bank Guarantees, Credit Risk Management, and Surety Bonds Training Program for Indonesia EXIM Bank.

Dr. Aryusri brings over 15 years of experience from the Office of Insurance Commission, where she held various positions. Her legal background has been instrumental in drafting insurance legislation, rules, and regulations on prudential matters. These include regulations on risk-based capital, valuation, investment, technical reserves, and market conduct affairs. Dr. Aryusri also possesses expertise in the compliant handling of disputes between policyholders and insurers through conciliation and mediation. Dr. Somporn Suebthawilkul is a prominent figure in the non-life insurance industry in Thailand. He is the Managing Director of Dhipaya Insurance Public Company Limited, one of the country’s leading general insurance companies, and the Chief Executive Officer of Dhipaya Group Holdings Public Company Limited, the country’s first insurance holding company. Dr. Somporn has been entrusted with significant roles in the insurance landscape. Among these are Deputy Chairman of Dhipaya Life Assurance Public Company Limited and a director of Thai Reinsurance Public Company Limited, to name but two.
Following his leading role in the insurance industry, Dr. Somporn is the President of the Thai General Insurance Association. He has also been appointed by the Cabinet as an expert committee member of the Thai Arbitration Institute Committee, Office of the Judiciary, as proposed by the Justice Minister.
Dr. Somporn’s academic background includes a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Ramkhamhaeng University; a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Thammasat University; a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Sripatum University; Maritime Studies, Navigation & Deck Officer from the School of Maritime Studies, Plymouth, England; and a B-TECH Diploma in Nautical Science from Plymouth Polytechnic College, England.

Dr. Apisit Anantanatarat is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Bangkok Insurance Public Company Limited, a non-life insurance business in Thailand. Additionally, he serves as the Director and Chief Executive Officer of BKI Holdings Company Limited. With nearly 40 years of extensive experience in non-life insurance, he has made significant contributions to the industry in Thailand.
Dr. Apisit's academic qualifications include a Doctorate in Organization Development and Transformation from Cebu Doctors’ University in the Philippines, a Master's in Science in Insurance from the University of Hartford, U.S.A., and a Master’s in Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Thammasat University, Thailand.
His wealth of knowledge and experience has been instrumental in advancing the insurance industry, both nationally and internationally.
MR. THOMAS C. WILSON
President and Chief Executive Officer, Allianz Ayudhya
As of January 1st, 2021, Tom assumed the role of Country Manager, President and CEO at Allianz Ayudhya, where he is responsible for overseeing life and health and all central functions (health, finance, investment, IT, risk, compliance, legal, audit) that support LH and PC operations. Prior to his assignment in Thailand, he served as Chief Risk Officer at Allianz Group for twelve years, overseeing all of Allianz's global insurance and asset management businesses.
Before joining Allianz in 2008, Tom held several prominent positions in the financial services industry. He served as Chief Risk Officer for ING Insurance from 2005, Global Head of the Finance and Risk Practice at Oliver Wyman & Company (a consulting firm specializing in serving financial services firms in risk, strategy, and organization) from 2002, CFO of Swiss Re New Markets from 1998 (responsible for risk management, financial/management reporting, treasury, and back-office operations for the alternative risk transfer and capital markets activities of Swiss Re), and Global Head of the Risk Management Practice at McKinsey and Company from 1990.
Tom is a prolific author and is renowned for his contributions to the field. He is the author of "Value and Capital Management: A Handbook for the Finance and Risk Functions of Financial Institutions," published in the Wiley Finance Series. His book has been translated into Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. Additionally, Tom holds the title of Honorary Professor of Applied Risk in Insurance at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität in Munich, Germany, and serves as a Board Member of the American Risk Insurance Association. He earned his B.Sc in Business Administration with honors from the University of California at Berkeley and his PhD in Economics from Stanford University. Tom holds dual American/Swiss citizenship.
MR. JOHANN DUTOIT

Johann Dutoit currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer at AIA Thailand, a position he has held since August 2020. Prior to this role, he served as the Chief Actuary at AIA Thailand from September 2016 to July 2020. Before joining AIA Thailand, he held the position of Chief Actuary at Krungthai AXA Life from February 2013 to September 2016.
Johann's educational background includes qualifications from the Rand Afrikaans University in South Africa, where he obtained an M.Sc. in Mathematical Statistics, a B.Sc. in Mathematical Statistics (with honors), and a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science (with honors). With over 20 years of experience in actuarial and investment roles in both general insurance and life insurance businesses, Johann brings a wealth of expertise to his current position.

Derek Taylor leads the Strategic Risk Consulting team in Asia, a department within Marsh Advisory, based in Singapore. He is responsible for providing clients with risk management consulting solutions in various areas, including Climate and Sustainability, Business Resilience, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Risk Management, Physical Security Risk, and Supply Chain Risk.
In the realm of Climate and Sustainability risk, Derek’s team assists organizations in modeling, quantifying, and adapting to physical risk. They also support clients in managing the increasing complexity and stakeholder expectations surrounding Sustainability strategy and risk.
Derek joined Marsh in early 2021 to establish the Strategic Risk Consulting department. His primary focus is to aid clients in better risk management during their transition out of the pandemic and into an era marked by uncertainty, characterized by geopolitical, climate, and supply chain risks.
Prior to joining Marsh, Derek served as a risk management consulting leader for businesses in both Bangkok and Singapore for eight years. He commenced his professional career as an officer in the United States Air Force and concluded his military service as a liaison to the Royal Thai Air Force at Don Muang Air Base in Bangkok.
